How To Find the Perfect Writing Environment:
It doesn’t exist. There is no such thing.
There will always been a distraction, something that needs to be done. You can make the time for writing or not. You can watch a show, or you can write. You can play a game, or you can write. You can tinker around making a blog post, or you can write. (See what I did there?)
We all have the same 24 hours. At the end of the day, you determine what is a priority. Writing well is work and it will only be polished to a high shine if you spend that time on it.
That doesn’t mean you can ignore your responsibilities. Letting stuff pile up won’t help your cause. You just have to devote the available time you have to writing. That bus ride or your lunch break. Unplug the internet for an hour. Wherever you can find the time, use it.
As for me, I have some writing to do.
I’m not a fan of just the “status update” kind of post, but I just wanted to get something out here. As you can see by the handy meter on the left, I’m at 86% of my goal for the year, 121,000 words. Pretty cool. Keeping my rate of progress will put me well ahead of my goal by years end.
You may have also noticed I’ve updated the Free Fiction section to the left. I cleaned up The Battle for Tragon Keep I wrote last year. I have another story I’m currently editing that I may post here soon.
Hey, take a look over there to the right. Scroll down a little. See that? A new section I have titled Keep Writing. I want you to keep writing too.
Yes, I too am sometimes discouraged. I don’t always want to write. So I am adding this section to capture inspirational/motivational posts directed toward creative people.
The first link I have there is for Right Brain Terrain Manifesto. You should read through it if you haven’t done so already.
If you have a link you enjoy, a link that really gets you motivated, let me know and I’ll post it there.
